What is VAPT, and how is it different from an automated vulnerability scan?

A vulnerability scan is automated pattern matching against known signatures. It returns a list of possibilities, many of them false positives, and it cannot understand what your application is for. Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing combines that automated coverage with manual exploitation: an engineer works through your authentication, authorisation and business logic by hand, chains issues together, and proves each finding is real by exploiting it. We report only what we have exploited.

Which security standards do you test against?

Our methodology is mapped to OWASP, SANS and NIST guidance. For web applications that means full OWASP Top 10 coverage; for APIs it extends to broken object-level authorisation and backend logic bypasses. Deliverables are then mapped against whichever regulatory framework applies to you, whether that is SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS or HIPAA.

Can you test mobile apps and APIs, or only web applications?

All three. We test web applications and multi-tenant SaaS portals, native iOS and Android applications including binary reverse engineering and local storage encryption validation, and REST and GraphQL APIs together with the microservices behind them. Most engagements cover more than one, because modern platforms share authentication and data layers across all of them.

Will the report be accepted by our auditor?

Yes. Deliverables are mapped directly against SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS and HIPAA requirements and include the technical evidence and formatted reporting auditors ask for, so findings can be submitted for sign-off without translation. For regulated Indian environments this extends to the artifacts required under RBI mandates.

What do we actually receive at the end of an engagement?

Reproducible proof-of-concept exploits with video recordings and the scripts we used; developer-ready patch code and cryptographic configurations; a strategic threat matrix for leadership; regulatory compliance artifacts; a map of your shadow APIs and orphaned microservices; CI/CD security runbooks with SAST and DAST hooks; and the full attack telemetry from our exploitation so your security operations team can tune its alerting.

Do you only report problems, or do you help fix them?

We hand over the fix. For every finding we provide the exact code-level patch, cryptographic configuration or IAM adjustment required, along with the architectural guidance to resolve the root cause rather than the symptom. A vulnerability report your team cannot act on has no value.

Do you test multi-tenant SaaS platforms?

This is our core focus, and we also operate one. WIMD architected, developed and continues to secure Isikko, a multi-tenant travel platform with custom authenticators, high-volume booking engines and live payment modules. Tenant isolation failures, shared-session flaws and payment logic bypasses are problems we have had to solve as operators, not only as testers.

How do you avoid the false positives our scanner produces?

We do not report a finding until we have exploited it. Automated tooling is used only to widen coverage; every issue that reaches your report has been manually validated with a working proof of concept. That means a shorter report and a considerably shorter remediation cycle.
